3 Easy Ways to Add Animations to Your Pinterest Pins
Video pins are great for marketing your posts and products on Pinterest, and their importance will only grow in the coming years. However, learning how to make Pinterest video pins can be difficult which is why most people avoid it.
In this blog post, I will share three ways to add animations to your pins to turn them into video pins to grab your audience's attention. Anyone can do this as it requires no editing skills, fancy software, or design skills.
The easiest way to add animations to your pins is with Instagram. All you have to do is create a text overlay to explain what the pin is about and add some "Gifs" to your image. You can even create the still image on a different platform like Canva and upload it to Instagram, then add the Gifs.
After you add the graphics all you have to do is upload it to Pinterest. Just be sure you don't go too crazy with Gifs. Try to keep it within your niche and not too overwhelming.
The next way to add animations is with Canva. Now, this way is a little bit more complicated if you don't have Canva premium (like myself) but I'll walk you through it. This may not be the only way to do this, but this is the easiest way I have found and would like to share it with you.
The first thing you have to do is go to your Canva home page and click on "Animated Social Media".
From here you can look through all the animated graphic templates and click on the play button in the top right corner to see which elements are animated.
Since the animated graphics are not in the correct Pinterest format you will need to make another file with the right Pinterest dimension (2:3). From here you can copy and paste the animated elements you like onto your pin.
You will then only have to export the file as a Video.
Keynote / Powerpoint
The final way to add animations onto your pins is with Keynote or Powerpoint. This is a good option if you want to make your pins and have no access to the internet or you want a bit more control over your graphics and designs.
The first thing you will do on Keynote is make a document and resize it to fit Pinterest optimized dimensions (2:3)
Then you can add text, graphics, or even videos to the slides. I like to use the animate option to add animations to the graphics in the pin.
You will then export it as a "movie" and convert it to an MP4 file. I use a free online video converter you can find with a quick Google Search.
There you have it. Three simple and effective ways to add animations to your pins to make them more attention-grabbing and compelling. I suggest you use one of these animation techniques to bring your pins to the next level.
